What is the Nuzlocke Challenge, you ask? Many of you have likely heard of it, but I'll explain it anyways. One must simply play a Pokemon RPG (any one will do) with two rules set in place:
1. If any of the Pokemon on your team faints in battle, he is dead. You must either release him into the wild, or if you choose, store them in your PC for the rest of the game.
2. You may only catch the first individual Pokemon you encounter in any area of the game. If he faints or runs away, or if you are fresh out of Poke Balls, then you cannot catch any in that area.
I also add a couple of minor rules to make it more interesting:
3. If you white out (or in other versions, black out) at any point, the game is over even if you have Pokemon in your PC.
4. You must name all of your Pokemon. Makes it hurt that much more when they die.
5. No use of Legendaries, even if they were the first you saw in their lairs (an unlikely feat regardless).
6. No buying Pokemon at the Celadon Game Corner. If a Pokemon is gifted to you (like Lapras or Eevee), then that is fine.
7. No using trades, in game or out.
8. No using fishing rods to get Pokemon. I just don't want to deal with a butt-ton of Magikarps from places that don't have grass.
I'll post again shortly (in character this time) with the details of my adventure.
